Very original, cerebral and thorough read per usual. Talked about your piece from a while back with a friend where Mark Fisher was also mentioned, coincidentally talking specifically about accelerationism. Sent him that piece and lo en behold: saw a whole new fresh post hot of the grill. Top 1 substackerstuff

Nigel I’m blushing! Thank you for your kind words. It's very interesting how Fisher and Land were contemporaries at CCRU but arrived at such radically different interpretations of accelerationism. Also very awesome that you have friends who share similar academic interests -- always rare!

Hey I can see what you mean when your compared Sophie and accelerationism.

I definitely think part of her goal was to expose queer joy to the masses and the influence of digital/the online world with the ability to be one’s self.

I’ve thought about Sophie’s music this way and it’s so grand to see someone writing about it!!

I agree with your read! SOPHIE's music is giggly and playful, while simultaneously preaching the emancipatory potential of the internet for queer folk. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts <3

I may be ignorant of the fact, but TikTok versions of your articles would be neat and help propel your works. But I’m sure that there’s been talk of such before.

Anyways, as per usual, I love the read. Succinct, articulate and flavorful. The topics you guys choose are scarcely discussed, especially in my field of influence, so it’s immensely appreciated to see them capture your light and vice versa.
